About the Chatham Armoury

Welcome to the Historic Chatham Armoury

Where Fairytales Come True!

The Chatham Armoury resembles a castle from a fairytale! The century-old heritage building has a majestic ambiance with approx. 15000 sq. feet of floor space, exposed brick, and cathedral ceilings. The size of the Chatham Armoury Banquet Centre allows versatility when it comes to the layout of your event. The Armoury property adorns the edge of the Tecumseh Park on the banks of the picturesque Thames River. The land on which the Armoury sits was designated as a military reserve by Lt. Gov. John Graves Simcoe in 1794. The Armoury building was completed in 1905. The Armoury was occupied by the Kent Regiment until 1954.

The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment occupied the building until 2006 when they moved to a new facility on Bloomfield Road. The former military training facility was converted into a premium multi-functional facility in 2009. The restoration plans were designed to protect the heritage details of this beautiful landmark building. The redesigned facility hosts wedding receptions, conferences and other large social and corporate functions with a total seating capacity of 500.
